Stage 4 - Unley to Hahndorf (152km)
Cameramen – born to be wildThey are as close as you get in the media to "soldiers of fortune" – they are those crazy guys who follow tour racing around the world hanging off fast moving motorbikes with cameras in hand to film every panting hill climb, every nail tearing sprint and every terrible spill in cycling – and they are not beyond a spill or two themselves.
But in Adelaide there is always time for a good coffee which is something this multicultural group of specialists enjoy before they hit the road.
Freelancers all – Graeme Holmes (UK, TDU 7th year); Patrice Diallo (France, TDU 7th year); Matt Gerke (Aus, TDU 4th year) and Bruce Draper (Aus, TDU 5th year) – are TDU veterans and say they love coming back each year to South Australia because the tour has such a wonderful feel.
They agree that it is Adelaide unfailing and increasing support for the event that makes it a favourite on the cycling calendar.
