Principal Objectives:
To determine the current level of expertise regarding synchrotron techniques
To identify areas where further educational resources could be usefully deployed
To predict the anticipated level of South Australian demand for the Australian Synchrotron.
Survey Breadth
Two concurrent surveys have been carried out.
The first covered University and research institutes and will focus on previous experience and anticipated usage.
The second survey was directed at industry and did not assume any prior knowledge.
Its main aim was to gauge the current level of understanding, the desire for more information as a basis for subsequent usage, and the motivation for a locally-based facility that could act as a conduit for applied South Australian synchrotron research and analysis.
