Description:
This 2 year project involves collaborative transfer and development of
methods and techniques(XPS, ToF-SIMS, AFM, SEM, XRD, plasma processing,
principal component analysis) for applications in minerals processing,
corrosion control in nickel alloys, surface contamination removal,
surface coatings, mineral surface reactions and new ion sources.
A variety of NSERC, CFI and industry projects are part of this
collaboration including:
Mineral flotation index development using TOF-SIMS analysis (NSERC)
Cluster Ion Source for Advanced ToF-SIMS Applications (CFI)
Corrosion Control in Heat Exchanger Alloys in Nuclear Reactors (Babcock and Wilcox, NSERC)
Design of a Hydrogen Radical Plasma Gun for Hydrocarbon Removal from the Surfaces of Industrial Samples
