Industrially focused synchrotron end-stations: An Australian-Canadian Collaboration

Project Duration: 2003-2006

Funding: DIIRD, State of Victoria

Chief Investigator: Andrea Gerson

Description:

With the advent an Australian Synchrotron radiation source in 2007 there is now an urgent requirement to design facilities with industry participation and requirements foremost in mind. Beamline 11 on the Australian Synchrotron is a microdiffraction and fluorescence probe capable of simultaneous phase and composition mapping.

ACeSSS is collaborating with Surface Science Western (University of Western Ontario) in the design and construction of a similar facility at the Canadian Light Source. This microprobe will be highly automated, robust and will provide a high level scientific and industrial resource.
