The Director, Associate Professor Andrea Gerson, has a
well-established international reputation and a strong record of
both research and research funding, with the Australian Research
Council on the one hand, and industry contracts on the other, over a
period of more than ten years. The success of her leadership in
these projects, particularly as Leader of the project Industrially
Focused Synchrotron End-stations: An Australian-Canadian
Collaboration, and in the Ian Wark Research Institute (IWRI)
management has led to the formation of ACeSSS as the first spin-off
Centre from the Ian Wark Research Institute.
