Welcome
The “ACeSSS” vision is to
develop a South Australian-based centre to access and develop new, innovative
methods and techniques in the science and technology of assessment, design
and processing of environmental systems and materials, as well as in the
fields of energy, mining and minerals.
The Applied Centre for Structural and Synchrotron Studies was launched in August 2004 and became the 10th Centre in the Division of Information
Technology, Engineering and the Environment.
Two new postgraduate scholarships have recently been undertaken within the centre, and a new Australian Postgraduate Award Industry (APAI) is currently advertised through UniSA.
We are currently adding two new sections to our website, "Latest Publications"
and "In Press" and
regularly updating the "Events" page of
our site. Please stay up to date with what's happening at ACeSSS
and keep an eye on the development
of the new sections as they are a 'work in progress' and will be maintained and updated
regularly.

Australian Synchrotron
A synchrotron produces extremely bright light, which can be used to probe
the physical and electronic structure of matter. Synchrotron light is
therefore used as an analytic tool in the quest for improved materials in
every walk of life.
