Research
The University of South Australia:
- is a national leader in collaborative, multidisciplinary and
industry-relevant research through the work of its six research
institutes, 11 research centres and 25 research groups4
- has received more than A$100 million in research funding since
2000, including an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grant
in 2005 of more than A$8 million - the largest ever awarded - for
the Australian Mineral Science Research Institute
- was ranked first in Australia for industry-sponsored research
grants through the ARC at the start of 2006
- is a partner in ten Cooperative Research Centres in 2006
- has identified sustainability, healthy lifestyles, and modelling
and managing complex systems as its emerging research priorities
- has research links in more than 30 countries.
Internationalisation
The University of South Australia:

- offers more than 40 accredited undergraduate and postgraduate

Facilities and services
The University of South Australia:
- has four metropolitan campuses in Adelaide and the Centre for
Regional Engagement based at the Whyalla campus and the Mount
Gambier Regional Centre
- has undergone extensive developments as part of the
Blueprint 2005
project, resulting in new buildings and refurbishments to facilities
on many campuses. These contemporary teaching, learning and research
facilities will ensure that the University will remain a modern
institution well into the future
- will complete Phase 2 of the Blueprint project in 2007 with the
opening of the Landmark Building on the City West campus. Home to
UniSA’s Hawke Centre, the building will include a Civic Gallery and
a 400-seat auditorium suitable for public lectures, conferences, and
a range of special events. It will also house a forum space with
seating for 150 people, have capacity for international teleconferencing
facilities, and be available to the community as a unique
conference venue
- offers a sophisticated online student environment, featuring
on-campus wireless computer network access for students with a
wireless-enabled laptop
- has developed a range of academic, social and personal
support
services to assist students throughout their program, regardless
of where and how they choose to study. Students can access staff and
online resources for study support, personal counselling, disability
support, Indigenous support and international student support
- offers a broad range of sport and recreation groups and cultural
activities through the Students Association.

- The Australian Technology Network (ATN), a powerful alliance of
five leading Australian technology universities who teach
approximately 180,000 students or 20 per cent of the Australian
university system. ATN universities also teach 25 per cent of
the international students who study in Australia8
- International Strategic Technology Alliance (ISTA), which
invited the Australian Technology Network (ATN) to join. Of the 22
education institutions that form ISTA, only three are located
outside of China.
