Exam timetables

The exam timetable provided on this website is final and is for the current examination period only. If you have any concerns about the scheduled times for exams, please contact your Course Lecturer or the teaching School immediately.  Please note the exam timetable provided here is only relevant to onshore students, not transnational students studying in a partner location outside of Australia.

Most exams for courses offered at Adelaide metropolitan campuses are held at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds at Wayville.  Please check carefully to ensure that you understand which venue to attend, where you need to go, and at what time.

Please be aware that extra aids, such as calculators, notes, books, etc are not permitted in to the exam room unless it is specified on the exam timetable. These specifications are listed under the 'student notes' section of the timetable. If this field is left blank, and there are no written instructions, then you are not permitted to take any additional items in to the exam with you. Please double-check these arrangements before the exam.

For further information on what to bring to your exams, please see the conduct in examinations section.

Conduct in examinations

Important: Students are required to bring their Student ID to their examination.

You may bring biros, pencils, rubbers etc, wallets, or purses and alternative exam approval letters into examination venues.

Calculators, text books, and notes may only be brought in to an examination venue when it is clearly specified on the examination timetable. All items must comply with specifications on the timetable and must not have been tampered with or contain any additional notes or material.

Other personal items, including handbags, backpacks, mobile phones (even if switched off), personal digital assistants etc. will not be permitted.  Secure storage for these items is provided. Please ensure that you arrive at your examination venue in plenty of time to secure your bag in the designated bag room.

Students found with unauthorised items may be subject to disciplinary action.

Further details about conduct in examinations can be found in Section 6 of the Assessment Policy and Procedures Manual Examination Procedures.

External student examination arrangements

As of SP1/2008, University policy regarding the supervision of exams for students studying externally has changed. The University will now be arranging for all students to sit their exams at approved examination centres. The examination centre that you are allocated to will be based on the address that you have recorded with the University. Students will no longer be required to arrange for a private Invigilator to supervise their exams.

If you reside within the Adelaide metropolitan area you are required to sit examinations with internal students at the designated university venue. The metropolitan area is defined as the following residential postcodes: 5000-5199, 5201, 5231-5234, 5240-5245 and 5250-5252.

You will receive an email or letter advising you of the examination centre that you have been allocated to approximately three weeks prior to the final exam period. As mid-study period tests usually occur early in each study period we will endeavour to advise you as soon as possible, usually no later than the week prior to the test.

The Universities Assessment Policies and Procedures Manual can be accessed online.  Information relating to the arrangements for students studying a course externally can be found in point 6.7

Enquiries about external examination arrangements and/or invigilation can be addressed to the Off-Campus Examination Officer:

Email: exams.results@unisa.edu.au
Telephone: (08) 8302 2755 or 1300 361 450 (cost of a local call from anywhere in Australia)
Fax: (08) 8302 2195

Alternative exam arrangements

If you believe you require alternative exam arrangements and do not have any in place, please contact Learning Connection, Disability Service for assistance. Students with disabilities may negotiate an agreement to alter the standard examination conditions.  The negotiated exam agreement is based on the information that you provide to the Learning Connection Disability Service and must be approved by your Program Director.

The arrangements will vary depending on the impact of the disability and are outlined in an Access Plan provided to you and your Program Director by Learning Connection, Disability Service. Please make sure to bring your access plan with you to your examination. Your Access Plan must be in place no later than four weeks prior to the Mid Year and End of Year exam periods and two weeks prior to all other exam periods (eg Mid Year and End of Year Deferred exam periods) in order to be valid for that exam period.

The arrangements that are agreed upon are valid for the duration of your study unless alternative arrangements have been specifically approved for a particular course.

Alternative examinations are held in the Mezzanine Level of the Ridley Centre at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds at Wayville. During the February and August exam periods (deferred exams), alternative examinations are held in a designated room in the Royal Banquet Room building. Please see an invigilator in the Royal Banquet Room to be directed to the alternative examination room.

We understand that exams can be stressful and hope that the information provided here will assist you with your preparation for the day.

There is a lift in the foyer of the Ridley Centre to assist with access to the 1st floor.
