The welcome cool and damp weather didn’t deter around 200 students
from visiting the annual Student Exchange Fair, held at Magill campus
last month.
The Fair was an invaluable chance for students to learn about UniSA’s exchange program and to speak with representatives of 11 partner universities including Ryerson University (Canada), University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Università degli studi di Bergamo (Italy), the Korean Information and Communications University, Okayama University (Japan), Arnhem Business School (Netherlands), Aston University (UK) and Oklahoma State University (USA).
Previous and current exchange students were also on hand to answer student queries and to highlight their own exchange experiences.
UniSA Student Exchange Officer, Marina Barbaro said students were often unaware of the possibility of travelling overseas as part of their studies.
"UniSA has partnerships with over 90 institutions around the world," she said, "and there are numerous travel grants and scholarships available to help students with airfares, accommodation and living expenses."
Barbaro said that in addition to the wealth of educational and cultural experiences students get from studying abroad, the courses they complete at a partner university are credited towards their UniSA program.
"Going overseas on exchange doesn’t mean students will fall behind in their studies - in fact, they can gain a competitive edge by adding international experience to their CVs."
