Fast-track your career

person reading the jobs section of a newspaperWith an application closing date of March 2007 for many graduate jobs starting in January 2008, now is a great time to start research so that you’re prepared to apply for positions early next year.

Graduate recruitment programs usually accept a given number of graduates at the same time, and include a schedule of professional development activities over a period of up to two years. Many programs give opportunities to work in a variety of business areas for short periods, possibly in different locations nationally and internationally. You’ll usually have the chance to network with other graduates, develop a wide range of skills and learn a huge amount in a short space of time. In short, a graduate program is a great way to fast-track your career!

Fortunately, if you’re in your final year and still haven’t decided what you want to do when you leave uni, some organisations still have vacancies in their programs. Visit UniSA’s MyCareerPlan (https://mycareerplan.unisa.edu.au) for further details.

While there, why not register for Career Services workshops. And check out the Career Services website at www.unisa.edu.au/careers for advice on how to write a winning application!
