Academic Excellence Award University of South Australia - Graduate Diploma in Engineering (coursework)

Awarded annually to the student with the most outstanding academic performance, and who obtains the highest GPA of 5.75 or above, upon completion of the Graduate Diploma in Engineering by coursework (Computer Systems Engineering), (Electrical Power Engineering), (Microsystems Technology) and (Telecommunications) program.

Academic Excellence Award University of South Australia - Master of Engineering (coursework)

Awarded annually to two students with the most outstanding academic performance, and  who obtain the highest GPA of 6.0 or above upon completion of the Master of Engineering by coursework (Computer Systems Engineering), (Electrical Power Engineering), (Microsystems Technology) and (Telecommunications) program.

A Cuthbert Wells Prize - Outstanding First Year

Awarded to a student having the best overall performance with a GPA of 5.75 or above upon completion of the first year of the Associate Degree in Engineering program in Electrical and Information Engineering.

Adelaide Dot Net Users Group (ADNUG) and Microsoft Prize

Awarded to the student who achieves the best overall performance in the course Business Applications Programming 1 (COMP 1008).
Value: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or equivalent and one year's membership to the Australian Visual Basic Users Group (value $2500)

Alan J Marriage Microengineering Prize

Awarded to a student with the best overall performance in the final year Electrical and Information Engineering projects involving microelectronics/microengineering.
Value:  $500

AME Master of Engineering Award

Awarded to the student with the highest GPA upon completion of the Master of Engineering (Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Energy and Sustainable Systems, Energy and Technology Management or Materials and Nanotechnology) program.
Value: $500 and a Certificate

AME Mechanical Design Award

Awarded to the student who achieves the best overall performance in the course 'Mechanical Design Practice' in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or specialisation) or associated degrees.

AME Mechanics Award

Awarded to the student who achieves the best overall performance in the course 'Mechanics and Physics' in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or specialisation) or associated degrees.

The Applied Physics Encouragement Award

Awarded to not more than two students for achievement, worthy of recognition and encouragement, in Applied Physics courses, in the previous one or two semesters in any year of the Bachelor of Science (Applied Physics major) program.

The Arthur J Smith Prize

The Arthur J Smith Prize is awarded to the student with the best overall performance upon completion of the Bachelor of Sustainable Environments (Geographical and Earth Systems) degree program. The prize has been established in honour of Arthur John Smith, a gold prospector who in 1906, was the first Australian to discover radioactive ore at Radium Hill which is located approximately 460 km north-east of Adelaide.

ASC Prize

Awarded to the most outstanding student in the course 'Engineering Maintenance' in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Specialisation) or associated degrees.

Aurecon Prize

Awarded annually to the final year Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or specialisation) student who achieves the highest marks in the course MENG 4003 'Sustainable Energy System Design'.

Australian Computer Society (SA Branch) Prize

Awarded to the most outstanding graduate from a Bachelor program in Information and Communications Technology.
Value:  Book voucher to the value of $250; first and second Year ACS membership; YIT or Branch conference registration; and a framed certificate

Australian Federation of Air Pilots Prize

Awarded to the student with the best overall performance in the first year of the Bachelor Applied Science (Civil Aviation) program.
Value: $1,500

Australian Institute of Building, South Australian Chapter - Associate Degree in Built Environment (Building) Award (First Year Student)

Awarded to the student of the Associate Degree in Built Environment completing all the courses in stage 1 of the program with the highest aggregate marks for all those courses.
Value: Certificate and one year's student membership of the Australian Institute of Building and books and/or equipment to the value of $100.

Australian Institute of Building, South Australian Chapter - Associate Degree in Built Environment (Building) Award (Graduand)

Awarded to the student completing the Associate Degree in Built Environment with the highest marks for the whole of the program.

Australian Institute of Building South Australian Chapter - Chapter Management Award

Awarded to the student in the Bachelor of Construction, Management, and Economics program for the highest aggregate mark in the courses Construction Management 1N and 2N.

Australian Institute of Building, South Australian Chapter - Chapter Medal

Awarded to the student with the best overall performance upon completion of the Bachelor of Construction, Management, and Economics program.
Value:  Medal and a Certificate

Australian Institute of Building, South Australian Chapter - H F Sarah Award

Awarded annually to the student with the best overall performance in the Bachelor of Construction, Management, and Economics program.  The student must have completed the first two years of full-time study in the program, or its equivalent in part-time study, and will be not more than 25 years of age at 31 December of the second year. The student must be a member of the Australian Institute of Building. 
Value:  One week's accommodation and fare paid to visit either Singapore, New Zealand or an Australian capital city. A full written report of the visit must be submitted to the Institute.

Australian Institute of Building, South Australian Chapter - R A O'Neill Award

Awarded to the final year student in the Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics who submitted the best Building Research projects 1 and 2 for the year.

Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors Prize

Awarded to the student in the Bachelor of Construction, Management and Economics program for the highest aggregate mark in the courses Quantity Surveying 3R and 4R.

Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Prize - Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Management

One prize will be awarded annually to the student having the best academic performance and who obtains the highest grade point average upon completion of the Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Management.

Australian Meteorological Association Prize

To be awarded to the student achieving a meritorious result in the Meteorological component in the course Navigation and Meteorological 1, Navigation and Meteorology 2 and the course Meteorology 3 in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Aviation) program.
Value: Book to the value of $100 presented by the Australian Meteorological Association

Australian Society for Operations Research Prize

The Australian Society for Operations Research Prize (ASOR Prize) is awarded to the graduate from either the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (LBMA) or the Bachelor of Quantitative Finance (DBQF) program with the most outstanding combined results in the courses; Linear Programming and Networks; Introduction to Stochastic Processes; and Optimisation.
Value: $200, plus medal and one year membership to The Australian Society for Operations Research

Australian Steel Institute Prize

Annual prize offered to the student who demonstrates the greatest proficiency in steel structures in the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) program or associated double degree programs.
Value: $200 plus certificate

Awarded to the most outstanding student(s) in the Civil Engineering Project Formulation and Civil Engineering Honours Project in the final year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or associated specialisations.

BAE Systems Achievement Prize in Systems Engineering

Bank of South Australia Prizes - Most Outstanding Student, First Year

Awarded to the student with the most outstanding academic performance in the first year of a Bachelor program in Computer and Information Science.
Value:  $1,000

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Team Player Award

Awarded to the student completing the Bachelor of Business Information Systems (DBBI) program who demonstrates the strongest teamwork qualities in the program. Students within the program will be asked to rank their fellow students.
Value: $1,000

BlueScope Steel - Materials Australia Award

Awarded annually to the student who achieves the most outstanding results in the course Engineering Materials N.
Value:  ASM Handbook Desk Edition, value of approximately $500

Bob Mierisch Memorial Prize in Civil and Structural Engineering

The Bob Mierisch Memorial Prize in Civil and Structural Engineering has been established by Judy Mierisch in memory of her late husband, Bob, who was a well respected civil engineer and construction leader. Bob Mierisch headed Baulderstone Hornibrook for nearly 30 years. He was awarded an AM in 1994 for service to the building and construction industry and to the community and he received a Centenary Medal in 2001 for service to Australian society in the technological industry.

The prize will be awarded to the student, undertaking the final year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Structural) and studying full-time, who achieves the highest aggregate grade for that year.
Value: $1,000 and a book

Bragg Silver Medal

Awarded to the final year student in the Bachelor of Science (Applied Physics major) program and associated double degrees, who has achieved a minimum standard of distinctions in physics courses contributing at least one half of the total points for the third year of the program.
Value: AIP Medal

Caroma Design Competition Prize

Awarded annually to the group who win the Warman Design Competition, conducted in the course 'Mechanical Engineering Practice'. Students must be undertaking the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or specialisation) or associated degrees.
Value: $1,000 to be divided equally between the group

CIPSA: Master of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Award

Awarded to the student with the highest GPA upon successful completion of the Master of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, who is enrolled at Mawson Lakes campus.
Value: Certificate and two years membership with CIPS Australia (valued up to $750)

CISCO Network Fundamentals Prize

One prize will be awarded annually to the student with the best overall performance in the course Network Fundamentals (INFT 1012). The course may be completed in any study period.
Value: $1,575 consisting of a CISCO877W-G-A-K9 ADSL Security Router with wireless 802.11g

CISCO CCNP Prize

One prize will be awarded annually to the student with the best overall performance in the courses CCNP Route (INFT 3022) plus CCNP Switch and Troubleshoot (INFT 3023) or CCNP Route M (INFT 5026) plus CCNP Switch and Troubleshoot M (INFT 5027). The course may be completed in any study period.
Value: $1,575 consisting of a CISCO877W-G-A-K9 ADSL Security Router with wireless 802.11g

Claire Corani Memorial Prize in Physics

Awarded at each of the three South Australian universities to the top female physics student in the Bachelor of Science (Applied Physics major) program at second year level, taking a minimum of one third of that year's workload in physics topics. The prize will be presented at the annual Claire Corani Memorial Lecture, sponsored by the Australian Institute of Physics.
Value:  $200 and a certificate

Clipsal Australia Award

Awarded to a student with the best overall performance in the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Mechatronic) or associated double degrees.
Value:  $500

Clipsal Integrated Systems Prize

Awarded to the most distinguished student by virtue of balanced theoretical and practical performance in the courses Electrical and Information Engineering Project 1 and 2 or Project 1 and 2 Honours, providing there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
Value:  $200

Codan Achievement Prize in Telecommunications

Awarded to a student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunications) and associated double degrees for best overall performance in the core Telecommunications courses, Modern Communication Systems and Telecommunications Networks M in the fourth year of a single degree or in the fifth year of an associated double degree.
Value:  $500

Codan High Achiever Engineering Prize

The Codan High Achiever Engineering Prize will assist a high achieving student enrolled full-time in the second year of a Bachelor of Engineering or associated double degree program at UniSA Prize selection will be based on the student's Grade Point Average (GPA) at the completion of the first year of the program. Preference may be given to a student undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems), (Electrical and Mechatronic), (Electronics and Communication) or (Networking and Communications) or associated double degree program. In the event of a GPA tie the Prize will be awarded at the discretion of the First Year Engineering Program Coordinator. Eligible applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Value: $2,500 paid in a single instalment after the SP2 census date in second year

Codan Project Award for Radio Frequency Engineering

Awarded to the student in the area of Radio Frequency Engineering in the final year of a Codan defined project in the Bachelor of Engineering program (IT option) and associated double degrees.
Value:  One prize of $500 will be awarded annually.

Concrete Pipe Association of Australasia Prize

Awarded to the students in the final year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or associated specialisations who achieves the most outstanding performance in the course Civil Engineering Design Project.

Engineers Australia - University of South Australia - Keith Johinke Medal

Awarded to a student in the final year engineering student. Selection is made with the emphasis on academic achievement, but personal qualities will also be assessed by an interview panel.

Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Manufacturing Prize- University of South Australia

Awarded to the student who obtains the highest overall marks for the two courses 'Computer Aided Engineering Practice' and 'Design in Plastics and Advanced Composites' in the same year. Students must be in the program Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or specialisation) or associated degree programs.
Value: $400 cash + medallion valued at $100 and a certificate

Institution of Mechanical Engineers - Frederick Barnes Waldron Award

Awarded to the student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or specialisation) degree with the best overall performance in the four years of the program.
Value: A certificate, plus the offer of one year's free Associate membership to the institution of Mechanical Engineers, plus medallion to the total value of $500

Institution of Mechanical Engineers Project Award

The International Test and Evaluation Association Prize for Excellence in T & E

Lockheed Martin High Achiever Engineering Prize

The Lockheed Martin High Achiever Engineering Prize will assist a high achieving student enrolled full-time in the second year of a Bachelor of Engineering or associated double degree program, at UniSA

Prize selection will be based on the student's Grade Point Average (GPA) at the completion of the first year of the program, and preference may be given to a student undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems), (Electrical and Mechatronic), (Electronics and Communication) or (Networking and Communications) or associated double degree program. In the event of a GPA tie, the Prize will be awarded at the discretion of the First Year Engineering Program Coordinator.

Awarded annually to the graduand with the highest grade point average in the Master of Project Management program offered in Hong Kong.
