Human factors and safety management systems
The Centre for Sleep Research's role and function will expand in the next few years, due in large part to the development of three University-based Human Factors programs. An Australian first, the programs—developed and delivered by Centre personnel—will commence in 2006.
Built on the foundations of innovative research generated by the Centre and its partners, students taking these programs will benefit from cutting edge approaches to safety management. The Certificate, Diploma and Masters level programs will provide unique experiences for students with week-long intensives, case studies and field visits. By preparing individuals for real world applications in the areas of Human Factors and Safety Management Systems, we'll be creating new risk management experts for the Australian workforce and, ultimately, a better understanding of the human at work.
