ISST - Sustainable Energy

The Sustainable Energy Centre (SEC) is a multi-disciplinary group dedicated to the research, development, education and implementation of sustainable energy systems.

Established in 1996, the SEC is one of the five key research centres forming the University's flagship Institute for Sustainable Systems and Technologies within the Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment.

Specialising in industry focused research and development in energy demand, side management, and renewable energy applications, SEC also undertakes consulting for a number of clients at national and international level. Our affiliation with various industry groups and research centres, combined with SEC's internationally recognised academic researchers and technical staff, ensure vast opportunities for highly successful postgraduate programs in research in the areas of sustainable energy.

SEC also hosts the Sustainable Energy Industry Support Centre and has following test and evaluation facilities:

ISST received funding from Premier’s Science and Research Fund (PSRF) grant to establish the Regional Sustainability Centre that will be the regional node of the Institute for Sustainable Systems and Technologies and will be based at UniSAs Whyalla campus.  The Centre will utilise UniSAs expertise in sustainable systems and technologies and other relevant capabilities to develop and demonstrate systems and technologies appropriate for the region and its specific resource development operations.

Housed at the Mawson Lakes Campus in Building J, SEC is your results orientated multi-disciplinary energy research and development organisation.
