Development of thermally driven solid desiccant rotor system for dehumidification /cooling in residential solar air-conditioning system

Ramadas Narayanan

Project Summary

This project is in association with CSIRO Energy Technology and the Energy Transformed Flagship which targets research in the cost effective heat-driven cooling system through the application of new working materials, innovative thermodynamic cycles and new rotating machine designs. The project aims at development a theoretical model of a desiccant wheel which is flexible with regard to different materials and input/output parameters. It will be verified using experimental results from CSIRO’s test rig. A number of innovative concepts will be prototyped and performance optimisation will be achieved through simulations and experimental design and testing.
