As per the DECS excursion polity, it is recommended schools provide a supervision ratio of 1 staff member per 10 students for Primary and 1:15 for Secondary. In some cases, classes will need to be split into two smaller groups so additional staff will be needed to do so.

Schools arriving by 09:45am and departing at 2pm will be scheduled to participate in three activities  - the first commencing at 10am - with a 60-90 minute lunch break to both stop to eat lunch and to visit the various static displays and lunch time activities. 

It is assumed all schools will follow this schedule - however please confirm this by indicating your first session commencement time in case you can not arrive until later in the day.

First session commencement time:   10am 11am 12:30pm    1:30pm

Please note that where possible we will do our best to allocate you to your preferred sessions, however, due to limited sessions and space restrictions this may not always be possible.


Food and drink
A one hour lunch break will be allocated to all schools.  Rotary will be offering a BBQ sausage sizzle and the UniSA based cafes will be open if students would like to purchase recess or lunch.

*Would your school like to pre-book BBQ for your students and pay in bulk?     If Yes, you will be sent a BBQ order form.   

*Will the students be purchasing lunch from the cafeteria?
