Bugs N Slugs: The Bug Show
Invertebrate animals (animals without backbones) make up 99 % of animal diversity. Contrary to common belief, only very few are serious pests and diseases of humans, live stock and crops. Indeed, the vast majority of invertebrate animals are absolutely vital to ecosystem health. They keep our rivers and oceans clean, our soils and crops productive and recycle organic waste. Without invertebrate animals our world would be an inhospitable place. The Bug Show fosters the appreciation of invertebrate biology, diversity, form, function and unique beauty.

Big Numbers: Puff Pastry, Japanese Swords, Child Development and Internet Banking
Numbers get very big much more quickly than we expect. Humans have an instinctive insight into numbers that is only really valid for relatively small numbers. Smart people in the past have thought of ways to exploit the surprising properties of big numbers in areas as diverse as cooking, sword making and internet security. Biological systems (like us) have been based on big numbers of cells and the big number properties that follow.
