The
Ada Computer Science Scholarship for Gifted Women
The School of Computer and Information
Science (CIS) established this scholarship in recognition of Ada
Lovelace. Ada Byron (1815-1852) who designed a computer language for an
analytical engine concept, making her the designer of the first computer
language in the world. In 1979 the language "Ada" was named in her
honour. One scholarship will awarded each year to a selected female
student commencing first year of an undergraduate degree program,
including associated double degrees, in the School of Computer and
Information Science.
The scholarship is awarded on academic
merit for the normal duration of a degree program within the School of
Computer and Information Science (three or four years
for single degree or four years for double degree). The recipient must
be enrolled in a CIS program, and be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident of Australia
to receive the scholarship.
Applicants are required to submit details of their prior academic record, a letter of recommendation from a teacher/academic and a short essay on why Computer Science or Information Technology suits their career goals.
The holder of this scholarship will not
be simultaneously awarded any other scholarships offered by the School
of Computer and Information Science.
The School of Computer and Information
Science reserves the right not to offer this scholarship if there are no
eligible students of meritorious standard.

Ahrens Scholarship
Three Ahrens Scholarships each to the value of $6000 will be awarded annually to students enrolled full time completing the third or fourth year of the Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics program. Applicants will be assessed by a selection committee on the basis of academic merit, leadership potential, communications skills and problem solving aptitude. The composition of the selection committee will be two Ahrens representatives and two UniSA, School of Natural and Built Environments academic staff, plus any other person nominated by the committee.
The aims of the scholarships are:

- To enable those students to grow by learning in Industry

The
Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) Research and Development Scholarship
One scholarship will be awarded annually to students undertaking studies either in the Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics or Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) program. The scholarship is provided to encourage undergraduate research in the field of Australian building regulations. The research must form a major component of the degree, such as research project, thesis or dissertation.
Applicants are required to submit their proposal to Associate Professor George Zillante who will forward them to ABCB for assessment.

of Engineering (Computer Systems Engineering)
Scholarships
The scholarships are supported by the following benefactors: BAE Systems, CSC Australia Pty Ltd and Saab Systems.
Three scholarships are offered for students wishing to undertake the Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems Engineering) and may also be offered to students wishing to enrol in double degrees which include Computer Systems Engineering. The scholarships normally pay $1,500 for each year of the program. To be considered for a scholarship, students must be accepted into the Bachelor of Engineering program (Computer Systems Engineering) stream. Selected students will be sent an application form after the enrolment period. Selection of the scholarship holders is based on SACE and other academic results and personal attributes.

Environs Scholarships in Civil and Mechanical Engineering
Built Environs will annually award two scholarships each to the value of $3,000 to second year students enrolled in Civil Engineering and/or Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering. The Scholarships are available to students at the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide.
Students will be asked to nominate one or more of their fellow students to a representative from the respective Schools. Representatives from each School will collate the nominations for short-listing by academic staff.
The recipient of the scholarship will need to demonstrate
- Outstanding academic achievement
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated team work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present their opinions persuasively and coherently
- Community involvement and/or activities outside work and study
Short-listed names will be forwarded to Built Environs with
recommendation for nomination and copies of academic transcripts Interviews
to be organised by and conducted at Built Environs The Scholarship will not
be offered if there are no suitable applicants. UniSA reserves the right to

Information Systems Cooperative Program
Scholarships
The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic results and an interview. They are an annual monetary grant paid fortnightly for the duration of the program. Students accepted into this program receive a scholarship provided by the program’s public and private sector partners.
The value of the scholarship is $9,000 per annum or such amount as determined by the Board of Studies for the duration of the degrees.
Students enter the Business Information Systems Cooperative program in their third undergraduate year after achieving good grades in the first two years, and the scholarship applies to the third year (completion of undergraduate degree) and fourth year (completion of Masters degree).

for Advanced Manufacturing Research
Scholarships
The scholarships are to assist Year 12 students pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing management. Up to six scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis to eligible students enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering) and associated double degrees programs.
The value of each scholarship is $2,000. The scholarships are for one year only and are payable after the end of March to recipients in one lump sum of $2,000 in their first year of study.
Applicants for these scholarships will be selected on the basis of their Stage 2 SACE results (or interstate equivalent). The selection panel will consist of the program director and two other staff members of the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering.
To be eligible for receipt of one of these Scholarships, applicants must:

Scholarships
One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) program or associated double degrees on the basis of academic merit and an interview. The scholarship will have a value of $1,000 and will be awarded for the first year of the degree program.
Additional scholarships for each year of the program will be awarded to the student with the best academic results in the previous year of the program. Australia Software Engineering Scholarship
CSC Australia will award annually one scholarship to a student enrolled on a full time basis (or part time equivalent) in the third year of the Bachelor of Software Engineering (LBSG) program.
The scholarship will be awarded on basis of outstanding academic achievement and merit and will be available for the standard full time duration (or part time equivalent) of the program. The recipient must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.
Eligible students will be invited to submit an application and short-listed applicants will be interviewed by the selection panel.
Applicants will need to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement during the first two years of the program and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

International
Scholarship for Bachelor of Quantitative Finance
A scholarship will be awarded annually to an International student on the basis of academic excellence, who enrols in the first year of the Bachelor of Quantitative Finance program. Applicants will be selected on merit and should have a South Australian Matriculation TER of at least 95, or an equivalent A-level grade of AAB.
The value of each full-time scholarship will be AUD$9,000. (AUD$6000 for the first year, AUD$2000 for the second year and AUD$1000 for the final year). Payment will be in instalments in the first and second half of each year after the census date. The first year, second payment and subsequent ongoing payments will be subject to ongoing satisfactory academic performance.
Applicants must have attained the necessary entry requirements as outlined in the University of South Australia's guidelines for Program, Fees and Entry Requirements for International Students. Holders of this scholarship will not be simultaneously awarded the School of Mathematics and Statistics Scholarship or Hypatia Scholarship.
Application Procedures
Students will only be considered eligible for an International
Scholarship upon acceptance into the Bachelor of Quantitative Finance
program and receipt of the initial payment of UniSA fees.
Applicants must include the following documents with their application:
- Application letter indicating intention to apply for the Scholarship;
- Two (2) written references;
- All other documents as outlined in the International Undergraduate Application form, including a certified copy of results. Forecast results will not be accepted.
Applications and supporting documents are to be returned to the UniSA International representative in the applicant’s home country. The application submission deadline date is Friday 9th February 2007. The successful applicant will be notified by Tuesday 13th February 2007.

Scholarships
The School of Computer and Information Science has established a scholarship program which provides students with the opportunity to compete for a scholarship in the second year of their undergraduate degree program, irrespective of their Tertiary Entrance Ranking (TER) or academic achievements upon entry.
The School of Computer and Information Science will offer ten scholarships to be awarded annually, to selected students entering the second year of an undergraduate degree program within the school.
The scholarships will be awarded to students on the basis of high achievement and academic merit and will be available for the standard full time duration (or part-time equivalent) of the second year of the Program. Recipients must be Australian Citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
The value of each full-time scholarship will be $1,500. Payment will be in $750 instalments (or part-time equivalent) in the first and second half of the year. The second payment will be subject to satisfactory academic progress as defined by the School.
The School of Computer and Information Science reserves the right not to offer all of the scholarships in any given year if there are insufficient eligible students of meritorious standard.

The School of Computer and Information Science has established a Scholarship Program which provides students with an opportunity to compete for a scholarship in the third year of their undergraduate degree program, irrespective of their Tertiary Entrance Ranking (TER) or academic achievements upon entry.
The School of Computer and Information Science will offer ten scholarships, to be awarded annually, to selected students entering into the third year of an undergraduate degree program within the school.
The scholarships will be for the standard full time duration (or part-time equivalent) of the third year of the Program and will be awarded to students on the basis of high achievement and academic merit. Recipients must be Australian Citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
The value of each full-time scholarship will be $1,500. Payment to the recipients will be in $750 instalments (or part-time equivalent) in the first and second half of the year. The second payment will be subject to satisfactory academic progress as defined by the School.
The School of Computer and Information Science reserves the right not to offer all of the scholarships in any given year if there are insufficient eligible students of meritorious standard.

Travel Scholarships
The School of Computer and Information Science will offer ten Overseas Travel Scholarships for one half year of attendance at an overseas university. The scholarships will be awarded annually to selected undergraduate students entering into the second or third year of an undergraduate degree program within the school.
The overseas universities will be chosen from those with whom the School of Computer and Information Science has organised such a program. The School will select courses from participating universities to ensure optimum course equivalency in our programs, to provide students with the best opportunity to succeed.
By participating in this scholarship, recipient students will gain exposure to international information technology practices and will have the opportunity to broaden their experiences prior to completing the final year of their degree program with the School of Computer and Information Science.
The scholarships will be for one study period only and include economy airfares and accommodation expenses to the value of $5,000. Recipients must be Australian Citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

The School of Computer and Information Science offers a scholarship to students undertaking full-time study in a School of Computer and Information Science Honours program containing a minor thesis component. The scholarship will be granted with consideration of a need for financial support, academic merit and previous industry experience. of Mathematics and Statistics Scholarships
The School of Mathematics and Statistics awards scholarships to full-time new students of sufficient academic merit who enrol in the first year of the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences and the Bachelor of Quantitative Finance.
All newly enrolled students with a Tertiary Entrance Rank of at least 90, or equivalent, are eligible, and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Students should have completed year 12 studies within the last two years. The student with the best Tertiary Entrance Rank of at least 90 will receive an entrance scholarship of $2,000. The scholarships are awarded automatically after the census date of March 31, and thus no formal application is required.

Birdseye Undergraduate Scholarship for Women
To mark the Women's Suffrage Centenary in 1994, Transport SA established a scholarship for women intending to pursue a program in civil engineering at the University of South Australia. The scholarship is awarded annually. Applications are open to women who are permanent residents of Australia, academically qualified for entry into the Bachelor of Engineering or associated double degrees at the University of South Australia and wishing to study full-time. Nominations are considered by a selection panel consisting of a representative from Transport SA and nominees from the School of Natural and Built Environments at the University of South Australia. Award of the Scholarship will be based on a written application, interview and academic results.
The value of the scholarship is $10,800 in total ($2,700 per annum for single degrees or $2,160 per annum for double degrees). Continuation of the scholarship each year depends on continued enrolment and satisfactory achievement in a Civil Engineering course at the University of South Australia. Vacation employment with Transport SA will be offered at the end of each academic year.
