ACEA
Engineering Transition Grant
The ACEA Engineering Transition Grant will assist an engineering student
in the transition to tertiary education. The grant is available to a
high achieving full-time student who is commencing the first year of a
Bachelor of Engineering, or associated double degree program at UniSA.
The grant will be awarded on the basis of academic merit (TER) and
financial disadvantage.
Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. The
grant will provide a total of $2,500 to assist with educational costs
incurred by the recipient in the transition to tertiary education, and
will be paid in a single instalment after the SP2 census date.

The
Ada Computer Science Scholarship for Gifted Women
The School of Computer and Information Science (CIS) established this
scholarship in recognition of Ada Lovelace. Ada Lovelace (1815-1852)
designed a computer language for an analytical engine concept, making
her the designer of the first computer language in the world. In 1979,
the language Ada was named in her honour. The scholarship is awarded
each year to a selected female student who enrols in an undergraduate
program leading towards a degree from the School of Computer and
Information Science.
The scholarship is awarded on academic merit for the normal duration of
an undergraduate program (three or four years for single degree or four
years for double degree). The recipient must be enrolled in a program
leading towards a degree from the School of Computer and Information
Science, and be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident of Australia
to receive the scholarship.
Applicants are required to submit details of their academic record, a
letter of recommendation from a teacher/academic and a short essay on
why Computer Science or Information Technology or Information Systems
suits their career goals.
The value of the full time scholarship is equivalent to the student
contribution amounts, with additional annual cash payments of $2,000 per
annum. The scholarship is for the full duration (or part-time
equivalent) of the program. Payment of the student contribution amounts,
plus $1,000 instalments (or part-time equivalent) will be paid to the
recipient in the first and second half of each year. Continuation of the
scholarship and payment of the second and subsequent payments will be
subject to satisfactory academic progress by the recipient, as defined
by the School of Computer and Information Science.
The holder of this scholarship will not be simultaneously awarded any
other scholarships offered by the School of Computer and Information
Science.
The School of Computer and Information Science reserves the right not to
offer this scholarship if there are no eligible students of meritorious
standard.

Ahrens Scholarship
Three Ahrens Scholarships each to the value of $6000 will be awarded annually to students enrolled full time completing the third or fourth year of the Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics program. Applicants will be assessed by a selection committee on the basis of academic merit, leadership potential, communications skills and problem solving aptitude. The composition of the selection committee will be two Ahrens representatives and two UniSA, School of Natural and Built Environments academic staff, plus any other person nominated by the committee.
The aims of the scholarships are:
- To attract excellent students to the Ahrens Group and to the Construction Industry
- To enable those students to grow by learning in Industry
- To promote the Building Discipline from the University of South Australia
- To promote the Construction Industry

Merit Scholarship
The School of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering will
offer up to 4 scholarships to assist Year 12 students pursuing a career in
mechanical engineering.
Students must remain enrolled in one of the following program's in order to
be eligible for and retain this Scholarship;
- 434321 B Engineering (Mechanical)
- 434761 B Engineering (Mechanical and Nanotechnology)
- 434771 B Engineering (Mechanical and Sustainable Systems)
- 434781 B Engineering (Mechanical and Mechatronic)

Students who meet the entry and ongoing criteria for this scholarship will receive;
- $500 payment after 31st March upon confirmation enrolled in 4 courses within the program.
- Further payments of 3 x $500 will be released to students upon completion of milestones. (Milestones-maintain GPA of 5.0 or higher after academic review for periods Year 1-SP2 and SP5, Year 2-SP2)

The
Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) Research and Development Scholarship
One scholarship will be awarded annually to students undertaking studies either in the Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics or Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) program. The scholarship is provided to encourage undergraduate research in the field of Australian building regulations. The research must form a major component of the degree, such as research project, thesis or dissertation.
Applicants are required to submit their proposal to Associate Professor George Zillante who will forward them to ABCB for assessment.

Environs Scholarships in Civil and Mechanical Engineering
Built Environs will annually award two scholarships each to the value of $3,000 to second year students enrolled in Civil Engineering and/or Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering. The Scholarships are available to students at the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide.
Students will be asked to nominate one or more of their fellow students to a representative from the respective Schools. Representatives from each School will collate the nominations for short-listing by academic staff.
The recipient of the scholarship will need to demonstrate
- Outstanding academic achievement
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated team work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present their opinions persuasively and coherently
- Community involvement and/or activities outside work and study
Short-listed names will be forwarded to Built Environs with
recommendation for nomination and copies of academic transcripts Interviews
to be organised by and conducted at Built Environs The Scholarship will not
be offered if there are no suitable applicants. UniSA reserves the right to
make changes to the name of programs or courses.

Information Systems Cooperative Program
Scholarships
The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic results and an interview. They are an annual monetary grant paid fortnightly for the duration of the program. Students accepted into this program receive a scholarship provided by the program's public and private sector partners. The value of the scholarship is $9,000 per annum or such amount as determined by the School for the duration of the degrees.
Students enter the Business Information Systems Cooperative program in their third undergraduate year after achieving good grades in the first two years, and the scholarship applies to the third year (completion of undergraduate degree) and fourth year (completion of Masters degree).

Scholarships
One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) program or associated double degrees on the basis of academic merit and an interview. The scholarship will have a value of $1,000 and will be awarded for the first year of the degree program.
Additional scholarships for each year of the program will be awarded to the student with the best academic results in the previous year of the program. Each scholarship will have a value of $1,000 and be awarded for one year. Each scholarship may not be held in conjunction with the Sylvia Birdseye Scholarship or the SA Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure Scholarship.

Codan 50th Anniversary Engineering Scholarship
The Codan 50th Anniversary Engineering Scholarship will assist a fourth year or Honours engineering student in one of the Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems), (Electrical and Mechatronic), (Electronics and Communication), (Networking and Communications) and associated double degrees.

Applicants must submit a written statement detailing their career objectives and how the scholarship will assist in achieving their goals.

Australia Software Engineering Scholarship
CSC Australia will award annually one scholarship to a student enrolled on a full time basis (or part time equivalent) in the third year of the Bachelor of Software Engineering (LBSG) program.
The scholarship will be awarded on basis of outstanding academic achievement and merit and will be available for the standard full time duration (or part time equivalent) of the program. The recipient must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.
Eligible students will be invited to submit an application and short-listed applicants will be interviewed by the selection panel.
Applicants will need to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement during the first two years of the program and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships with the exception of scholarships offered by the School of Computer and Information Science. The scholarship will not be offered if there are no suitable applicants.

Scholarships are available on annual basis to support undergraduate
students enrolled full time in the third or fourth year of a Mechanical,

Links Scholarships
Six DSTO scholarships each to the value of $2,000 will be awarded annually to students enrolled in Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Mechatronics), (Electronics & Microengineering), (Computer Systems Engineering) or (Telecommunication) programs and associated double degree programs. The scholarships will be awarded to students on the basis of high achievement and academic merit and will be available for the standard full-time duration or part-time equivalent of the first year of the program. The candidates shall be identified by the academic staff of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering and recommendations for the award made to DSTO Information Science Laboratory. The value of each scholarship is a one off payment of $2,000.

The George Alexander Foundation Mechanical
Engineering Scholarship
The George Alexander Foundation was established by Mr Alexander AM in 1972 to provide grants for public charitable purposes in Australia. Reflecting the Founder's special interests, The George Alexander Foundation has an emphasis to help talented young people who have demonstrated academic ability, particularly those from rural and regional communities, for whom scholarships would make a significant contribution to achieving their educational goals.
The George Alexander Foundation Mechanical Engineering Scholarship was established in 2008 and will be available annually for undergraduate applicant in the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering (AME) who are from regional/remote areas who undertakes Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Mechatronics) or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Sustainability), or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Nanotechnology) or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Advanced Manufacturing) program.
Applicants must remain enrolled in the program on a full time basis and ensure they meet minimum GPA of 4.5 per study period for the life of the program.
The successful applicant will receive $2,000 per year over the four years
of their degree, plus an additional $2,000 if they undertake their 12 weeks
industry experience within the Agricultural Machinery Research and Design
Centre.

The scholarship is intended to recognize previous study accomplished by
students concurrently studying the Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil
Aviation) (LBCV), or students who have completed LBCV and who are

Scholarship for Bachelor of Quantitative Finance
A scholarship will be awarded annually to an International student on the basis of academic excellence, who enrols in the first year of the Bachelor of Quantitative Finance program. Applicants will be selected on merit and should have a South Australian Matriculation TER of at least 95, or an equivalent A-level grade of AAB.
The value of each full-time scholarship will be AUD$9,000. (AUD$6000 for the first year, AUD$2000 for the second year and AUD$1000 for the final year). Payment will be in instalments in the first and second half of each year after the census date. The first year, second payment and subsequent ongoing payments will be subject to ongoing satisfactory academic performance.
Applicants must have attained the necessary entry requirements as outlined in the University of South Australia's guidelines for Program, Fees and Entry Requirements for International Students. Holders of this scholarship will not be simultaneously awarded the School of Mathematics and Statistics Scholarship or Hypatia Scholarship.
Application procedure
Students will only be considered eligible for an International
Scholarship upon acceptance into the Bachelor of Quantitative Finance
program and receipt of the initial payment of UniSA fees.
Applicants must include the following documents with their application:
- Application letter indicating intention to apply for the Scholarship;
- Two (2) written references;
- All other documents as outlined in the International Undergraduate Application form, including a certified copy of results. Forecast results will not be accepted.

Martin Engineering Transition Grant
The Lockheed Martin Engineering Transition Grant will assist an
engineering student in the transition to tertiary education. The grant
is available to a high achieving full-time student who is commencing the
first year of a Bachelor of Engineering, or associated double degree
program, at UniSA.
The grant will be awarded on the basis of academic merit (TER) and
financial disadvantage. Preference may be given to a student undertaking
a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems), (Electrical and
Mechatronic), (Electronics and Communication) or (Networking and
Communications) or associated double degree program.
Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. The
grant will provide a total of $2,500 to assist with educational costs
incurred by the recipient in the transition to tertiary education, and
will be paid in a single instalment after the SP2 census date.

census date.)

A scholarship will be awarded annually to a student enrolled full-time in the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or (Mechanical/specialisation) program who will complete their final year of study in the subsequent year.
Selection Criteria: Applicants are required to submit a written letter of application and a copy of their curriculum vitae. Orlando Wines will review all applications and make a short-list of applicants who will be invited to attend an interview in the form of a mock job interview for the position of Graduate Engineer, before making their final selection.

The Rider Levett Bucknall Second Year Scholarship will assist a student in their second year of the Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics degree program.

The Rider Levett Bucknall Fourth Year Scholarship will assist a
quantity surveying student in their fourth year of the Bachelor of

undertake paid work experience and will be required to submit a written

Travel Scholarships
The School of Computer and Information Science will offer ten Overseas Travel Scholarships for one half year of attendance at an overseas university. The scholarships will be awarded annually to selected undergraduate students entering into the second or third year of an undergraduate degree program within the school.
The overseas universities will be chosen from those with whom the School of Computer and Information Science has organised such a program. The School will select courses from participating universities to ensure optimum course equivalency in our programs, to provide students with the best opportunity to succeed.
By participating in this scholarship, recipient students will gain exposure to international information technology practices and will have the opportunity to broaden their experiences prior to completing the final year of their degree program with the School of Computer and Information Science.
The scholarships will be for one study period only and include economy airfares and accommodation expenses to the value of $5,000. Recipients must be Australian Citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

The School of Mathematics and Statistics awards scholarships to full-time new students of sufficient academic merit who enrol in the first year of the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences and the Bachelor of Quantitative Finance.
All newly enrolled students with a Tertiary Entrance Rank of at least 90, or equivalent, are eligible, and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Students should have completed year 12 studies within the last two years. The student with the best Tertiary Entrance Rank of at least 90 will receive an entrance scholarship of $2,000. The scholarships are awarded automatically after the census date of March 31, and thus no formal application is required.

Birdseye Undergraduate Scholarship for Women
To mark the Women's Suffrage Centenary in 1994, Transport SA established a scholarship for women intending to pursue a program in civil engineering at the University of South Australia. The scholarship is awarded annually. Applications are open to women who are permanent residents of Australia, academically qualified for entry into the Bachelor of Engineering or associated double degrees at the University of South Australia and wishing to study full-time. Nominations are considered by a selection panel consisting of a representative from Transport SA and nominees from the School of Natural and Built Environments at the University of South Australia. Award of the Scholarship will be based on a written application, interview and academic results.
The value of the scholarship is $10,800 in total ($2,700 per annum for single degrees or $2,160 per annum for double degrees). Continuation of the scholarship each year depends on continued enrolment and satisfactory achievement in a Civil Engineering course at the University of South Australia. Vacation employment with Transport SA will be offered at the end of each academic year.
