Codan
Engineering Transition Grant
The Codan Engineering Transition Grant will assist an engineering student in the transition to tertiary education. The grant is available to a high achieving full-time student who is commencing the first year of a Bachelor of Engineering, or associated double degree program, at UniSA.
The grant will be awarded on the basis of Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) and financial disadvantage. Preference may be given to a student undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems), (Electrical and Mechatronic), (Electronics and Communication) or (Networking and Communications) or associated double degree program.
Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. The grant will provide a total of $2,500 to assist with educational costs incurred by the recipient in the transition to tertiary education, and will be paid in a single instalment after the Study Period 2 (SP2) census date.

Cowan
Ability Grants
Grants are available to assist students who have disabilities to manage the additional expenses associated with studying with disabilities. Many students with disabilities require additional equipment, have travel expenses and limited ability to earn additional income whilst studying.
The Cowan Ability Grants target recent school leavers who have completed high school within two years of commencing their current university program and who have successfully completed a year of study (equivalent to 36 units). This has been identified as a time when students are often struggling with the financial cost associated with continuing their study. Cowan
Regional Grants
Cowan Regional grants are available to assist commencing students studying full time at the Whyalla Campus and the Mt Gambier Campus.
The grants assist students with the costs associated with full time study including study, living and travel expenses. Students must demonstrate financial disadvantage and provide a written statement addressing the grant criteria
Value: $2,000 and payments are split in two instalments of $1,000 after the Study Period 2 and 5 Census Dates. The funds must be used for the intended purpose and recipients will be required to sign a grant agreement to this effect.

Cowan
Young Endeavour Grant
The Cowan Young Endeavour Grant is available to students who are enrolled full-time in any program at UniSA.
The Young Endeavour is Australia's national sail training ship and a voyage involves 11 days at sea, living and sailing with 23 other youth crew from all over Australia. The Young Endeavour is operated by the Royal Australian Navy and provides a unique professional development opportunity to develop communication, leadership and team work skills. Please note that students must be aged between 16 - 23 years to undertake the voyage.
The grant is valued at up to $5,000 and includes a berth on the Young Endeavour and additional travel expenses.
Recipients will be selected on the basis of demonstrated financial disadvantage, academic merit (GPA) and a personal written statement.

David Pank Rural Student Placement
Grants
The David Pank Rural Student Placement Grants are available to students who have relocated to Adelaide from a rural or isolated area to pursue their studies, who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program and who are required to undertake a placement to gain professional experience.
Applicants must undertake a rural or metropolitan placement for a minimum of two consecutive weeks in the year that they apply for the grant. The grants will provide financial assistance for the costs associated with undertaking a placement including travel, accommodation and living expenses.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, be able to demonstrate financial disadvantage and provide a statement (max 500 words) detailing the location and duration of the placement, how the grant will assist them in undertaking the placement and their future career goals.
Please note that applicants who are in receipt of an award provided by the Pank Family are not eligible to apply for the grant.
Recipients will be selected on the basis of demonstrated financial hardship, academic merit (GPA), provision of a supporting personal written statement, the length of the placement and an interview.

Desmond
Tan Travel Grant
The Desmond Tan Grant in Architectural History is open to a student enrolled in 2008 in the courses Architectural Research 1 and Architectural Research 2 for the coursework degree of Master of Architecture (DMAE). The grant supports research into a topic in architectural history focussing on the collections of the Architecture Museum, Louise Laybourne Smith School of Architecture and Design, as the primary resource. Applicants will be required to select a topic from a list provided by the Architecture Museum staff. Applications will be invited at the beginning of Study Period 2.

Global
Experience Travel Grant
Three Grants will be awarded on an annual basis for on-shore Domestic and International Undergraduate students enrolled in a UniSA undergraduate award program and currently registered with Global Experience.
The Grant will be awarded to recipients in order to undertake approved off-shore international experiential activities to fulfil Global Experience program requirements.
Approved offshore activities include:
Participation in an unpaid volunteer, internship or work experience program
undertaken outside of a student's academic program. For a minimum duration
of 12 days (or its full time equivalent).
Attendance or participation in a globally focused seminar, workshop,
conference or symposium. Participatory requirements including the
presentation of a paper or poster and/or workshop participation.
Participation in an overseas competition where offshore attendance forms a
requirement of the selection process and funding not provided by the host
organization or organizing body.
To be eligible for the Grant, the recipient must not be in receipt of a UniSA grant, scholarship, prize or award or funding from a host organization for the primary purpose of undertaking the offshore experiential activity.
Applicants will be selected on the basis of a personal written statement outlining the off-shore experiential activity, motivation for participation, and reflection on anticipated outcomes in addition to interview with the selection panel.
The Grants are administered by the Global Experience program.

Health Sciences Placement Support

Pearce Family Transition Grants
The Pearce Family have made available three Transition Grants to assist
rural students in the transition to tertiary education. The Grants are
available for rural students who have experienced financial disadvantage and
are commencing a full time undergraduate degree program in any Bachelor of
Education program at UniSA. Three grants of $1,500 each are available for
students from a designated rural area. Grants will be awarded on merit and
financial disadvantage.

Resthaven
75th Anniversary Undergraduate Third Year Nursing Grants
The Resthaven 75th Anniversary Undergraduate Third Year Nursing Grants are available to full-time students who are undertaking their third year of the Bachelor of Nursing program.
Applicants must demonstrate an interest in aged care as a career and in their studies and must choose the Aged Care Specialisation when they undertake Experiential Learning Activity - Practicum 3 during their program. Applicants must also be willing to undertake a placement at Resthaven during their program if the opportunity arises and be willing to speak constructively and positively about the important work that nurses do in aged care.
Applicants will be asked to provide a written statement detailing their career objectives, their interest in aged care and how the grant will assist them in achieving their goals. Preference may be given to students who are studying nursing at a regional campus and they are encouraged to apply.
Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic merit (minimum GPA 4.5), a personal written statement and performance at an interview.
Value: $5,000 paid in two instalments of $2,500 after the Study Period 2 and 5 census dates. Payment is subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Rural Reconnect Grants
Five grants are available to students from a rural or isolated area who have relocated to Adelaide to study full-time and are undertaking a professional experience placement in one the following disciplines: Education, Health Sciences, Nursing or Midwifery.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, be financially disadvantaged and have lived in a rural or isolated area for at least four years prior to commencing university. Applicants must be undertaking their placement in a rural area in the year that they apply for the grant. Please note that the grants will not be awarded retrospectively.
Applicants must provide a personal written statement detailing the location and duration of their rural placement and their future career goals. Preference may be given to applicants who are undertaking a rural placement greater than four consecutive weeks.
Applicants who are receiving financial assistance from the Spencer Gulf Rural Health School are not eligible to apply.
Recipients will be selected on the basis of demonstrated financial disadvantage, academic merit (GPA) and a personal written statement. Recipients will also be invited to participate in research and evaluation.

Surveying SA Laptop Grant
In 2009, Surveying SA was formed with representatives from the Surveyors Board of South Australia (SBSA) Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI), Spatial Industries Business Association (SIBA) and the University of South Australia (UniSA) with the aim of increasing the number of Licensed Surveyors in South Australia and ensuring the continuity of surveying tertiary studies in the State.
The Surveying SA Laptop Grants have been established to assist five commencing UniSA students by providing them with $1,000 to purchase a new laptop.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. In 2011 to be eligible for the grant applicants must be be enrolled full-time in the first year of the Bachelor of Environmental Science degree program and intending to undertake the following spatial science electives as part of their program: Environmental Remote Sensing, Geomatics and Geospatial Exploration.
Applicants must provide a personal written statement detailing their interest in spatial science, their career objectives and how the scholarship will assist in achieving their goals.
Applicants may be given special consideration if they can demonstrate in their written statement: academic merit, financial disadvantage or that they have a rural background. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
Recipients of the Surveying SA Laptop Grants will be given preference in future years if they enrol in the Master of Surveying and apply for the Surveying SA Scholarship.

University of South Australia Student Exchange Travel Grants
The University of South Australia is committed to providing opportunities for students to gain an international perspective by participating in student exchange. Studying on exchange can be an enriching cultural and academic experience and one that benefits you throughout your life. UniSA has more than 60 exchange partners throughout the world in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
All UniSA students who are accepted into the exchange program are eligible for a travel grant. While on student exchange, you remain enrolled at the University of South Australia and continue to pay your normal UniSA fees. You do not pay tuition fees to the host institution. For students that are eligible, Austudy/Abstudy/Youth Allowance payments continue to be paid while overseas on student exchange. You will also receive credit for the courses you take on student exchange, meaning that you will still be able to complete your degree on time.
Value: $800 to $2,400 (dependent on selected country)

Gardens Vocational College Book Grant
The UniSA Windsor Gardens Vocational College Book Grant is available to students who are commencing an undergraduate program at UniSA and can demonstrate that they have completed Year 12 at the Windsor Gardens Vocational College.
The grant has been created to support a student who would experience financial difficulty in attending university.
Value $1,000. An account will be opened for the recipient at Unibooks and they will be able to purchase text books and other study aids to the value of $500 after the Study Period 2 and 5 census dates.
