Scholarship for students with a disabilityScholarship for continuing studentsCowan Ability Grant

This grant is to assist students who have disabilities to manage the additional expenses associated with studying with disabilities. Many students with disabilities require additional equipment; have travel expenses and limited ability to earn additional income whilst studying.
The Cowan Ability Grant targets a recent school leaver who has successfully completed a year of university study. This has been identified as a time when students are often struggling with the financial cost associated with continuing their study. Online applications will open on 15 January 2008 through my Scholarships.

Cowan Regional Grants

Two regional grants are available to assist commencing students studying full time at the Whyalla Campus and the Mt Gambier Campus. The grants assist students with the costs associated with full time study including study, living and travel expenses. Students must demonstrate financial disadvantage and provide a written statement addressing the grant criteria. Online applications will open on 9 February, 2009 through my Scholarships.

Value: $2,000 (split into two instalments of $1,000 after the Study Period 2 and 5 census dates).

Disability Equipment Grant Scheme

The Disability Equipment Grant scheme will assist UniSA students, with disabilities, to purchase equipment and/or software which will assist them with their studies. Online applications will open in mid February 2009 through my Scholarships. If you require a hard copy grant application form, please email disability@unisa.edu.au.

Value: Up to $1,000 based on quoted value of equipment

South Australian School of Art Higher Degree Research International Travel Grant

The grant is available to assist a research student in the South Australian School of Art to undertake fieldwork outside Australia as part of their higher degree research project.

Scholarship for rural/isolated studentsScholarship for new studentsScholarship for economically disadvantaged studentsThe Pearce Family Transition Grants

The Pearce Family have made available three Transition Grants to assist rural students in the transition to tertiary education. The Grants are available for rural students who have experienced financial disadvantage and are commencing a full time undergraduate degree program in any Bachelor of Education program at UniSA. Three grants of $1,000 each are available for students from a designated rural area. Grants will be awarded on merit and financial disadvantage.

Scholarship for continuing studentsUniSA logoUniversity of South Australia Student Exchange Travel Grants

The University of South Australia is committed to providing opportunities for students to gain an international perspective by participating in student exchange. Studying on exchange can be an enriching cultural and academic experience and one that benefits you throughout your life. UniSA has more than 60 exchange partners throughout the world in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

All UniSA students who are accepted into the exchange program are eligible for a travel grant. While on student exchange, you remain enrolled at the University of South Australia and continue to pay your normal UniSA fees. You do not pay tuition fees to the host institution. For students that are eligible, Austudy/Abstudy/Youth Allowance payments continue to be paid while overseas on student exchange. You will also receive credit for the courses you take on student exchange, meaning that you will still be able to complete your degree on time.

Value: $800 to $2,400 (dependent on selected country)

Transition Grants are available to commencing students who have experienced financial disadvantage and are enrolling in a full-time undergraduate degree at UniSA. These grants assist students with the transition to university and provide $1,500 for students who reside, at the time of application, in designated rural or isolated areas and $1,000 for students from designated metropolitan areas.
