Samstag Scholars

The Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarships were established in 1992 through the generous bequest of Gordon Samstag, an American artist who taught from 1961 to 1970 at the South Australian School of Art.

Renowned as 'golden passports' to professional success in the visual arts and for identifying artists of exciting talent, who progress to careers of high achievement, Samstag Scholarships are awarded by the University of South Australia on behalf of Mr Samstag's Trustee: Bank of America Private Wealth Management, Naples, Florida, USA. There are now 118 Samstag alumni.

The most recent Samstag Scholarships, for twelve months overseas study commencing in 2010, were awarded to:
