The University of South Australia offers a number of scholarships, annually, on behalf of the Trustee of the estate of Gordon Samstag, late of Naples, Florida USA.

The Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarships were established in 1992 through the generous bequest of Mr Samstag, an American artist who taught from 1961 to 1970 at the South Australian School of Art. Gordon Samstag's remarkable gift to Australian visual artists ranks as one of the very great bequests to visual arts education in this country.
