The programs are built around an 18-month (full-time equivalent) Masters by Coursework framework. There are three exit points built into the program: 1) a Graduate Certificate involving six-months full time equivalent of 18 units; 2) a Graduate Diploma involving 12-months full-time equivalent of 36 units; and 3) a Masters involving an additional 9 units of coursework and a minor thesis of 9 units, with a total of 54 units. The core components of the Graduate Certificate provide an introduction to the basic concepts and theoretical underpinnings of Human Factors and Safety Management, with a focus on developing a basic skill-set in these areas. The courses structured as part of the Graduate Diploma progresses to develop more depth of understanding, and focus specifically on skill development in the key areas of risk mitigation and safety analysis. The final courses, structured as part of the Master’s degree, provide further skill development in the area of research in an applied industry setting.
