On 26 February 2008, Senator the Hon Kim Carr, Minister for the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR), announced the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative. On 4 June 2008 the Minister released a Consultation Paper outlining some details of ERA and posing a number of questions requiring feedback from the sector.
UniSA must develop strategies in research and innovation that position our researchers and institution to meet the challenges of the Federal Government's new research agenda. The University's response is being coordinated by REQUIEM
Australian Research Council response
On 24 April 2008, the Australian Research Council (ARC) launched the Research Excellence website. This website contains relevant and up-to-date information about the ERA initiative, including Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC), ERA presentations, FAQs, media releases and metrics.
