Funded research grants
The fourth generic quality covers the two learning modes of autonomy and collaboration. For the higher degree by research student the context is ‘as a researcher within a particular discipline or professional area and within wider but related areas’.
Introduction
Working with others may be achieved by the higher degree by
research student preparing
part of a proposal for
funded research. Collaboration in research work can be assessed by reports
on decision making in a funded research proposal.

On campus workshops
Research Education Support Activities (RESA) offers on campus workshops relevant to research writing, working in a team and contributing to the research community as part of the core series (eg Being a scientist: building networks for future success and Understanding politics, ethics and financial aspects of research in the Sciences, engineering and technology advancing research program). Check the calendar for details of when these workshops are offered.
Training, workshops and resources lists upcoming and past grant writing workshops, and provides resources from these workshops, helpful if you need to apply for a grant or will be participating in the process. Research students are also welcome to attend most workshops.

funding schemes. Guidelines, application forms and advice can be
obtained from Research and Innovation Services.
