Supervising@UniSA
Supervising@UniSA is a one day program designed for academic staff who have applied (or intend applying) for admission to the UniSA Register of Postgraduate Research Degree Supervisors.
This program is offered at least four times throughout the year. Attendance is required at the morning session, where policies, procedures and other important information are presented. Attendance in the afternoon is highly recommended for new supervisors. The afternoon session focuses on strategies and resources for supervision, with opportunities for interaction and group discussion.
Please note: All new continuing staff appointed to an academic position other than ‘research only’ are required to undertake the University’s Graduate Certificate in Education (University Teaching) and will be funded to complete the qualification. If you are eligible to undertake the Graduate Certificate and intend enrolling in Supervising research students (EDUC 5122), attendance at one of the Supervising@UniSA sessions is a prerequisite. Contact cassandra.loeser@unisa.edu.au for further details.
Staff enrolled in EDUC 5122 in Study Period 5 2008 must attend the 23 July workshop for the full day.

Research writing and discussion group series for supervisors
Research writing and discussion groups offer supervisors, and those in the process of becoming a member of the Register of Postgraduate Research Degree Supervisors, the opportunity to discuss their own individual research and writing projects. The group also provides suggestions, feedback and advice on each other's work.
The series has four main objectives:
- To enhance the research profile of supervisors
- To develop a collegial support network for supervisors
- To assist supervisors in the further development and publication of their research writing projects
- To develop and maintain an online resource for supervisors focussed on research writing
