Excellence in Research for Australia

No.1 YOUNG UNIVERSITY IN AUSTRALIA FOR INDUSTRY INCOME

No.1 in Australia for Research Impact and Engagement

100% of our research at or above world-class

UniSA’s strong commitment to cutting-edge research and engagement with industry has been well recognised, with 100 per cent of our detail fields of research rated at or above world-class standard (Excellence in Research for Australia 2018). This is an impressive result for a young university and we are proud of our achievements.

Led by the Australian Research Council, Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) is the national research evaluation framework. ERA identifies research excellence by providing a comprehensive quality assessment of all research produced by Australian higher education institutions against both national and international benchmarks.

In 2018, 39 of UniSA’s detailed (4-digit) assessed fields of research were rated at or above world-standard. Many of the University's research strengths are represented in the top-tier rankings, with a mix of traditional and emerging disciplines, demonstrating the remarkable growth trajectory of UniSA as a young, but significant research institution.

Additionally, UniSA has been ranked no.1 in Australia for research impact and engagement according to the results of the 2018 Australian Research Council’s Engagement and Impact Assessment (Combined Impact – Approach to Impact and Engagement on Assessed Fields).

We are extremely proud of these recognitions, having produced high-level research that has the potential to make a difference both locally and abroad. For more information, see the UniSA Media Release about ERA and the UniSA Media Release about the ARC’s Engagement and Impact Assessment.
