Financial support for research degrees ensures that you can direct your full academic attention to your research project. At UniSA, scholarships and other financial support are associated to the research project you are applying for, and they are awarded on a competitive basis. There are three main types of scholarship at UniSA for new students, depending on what part of your research project they fund:

In addition to the above, there are other scholarship opportunities for current students which are aimed at funding specific activities related to a project, such as conference travel, equipment, or tuition fee funding.

These scholarships are aligned to specific projects.  Applicants for all projects are competitively assessed and selected on information provided in the application and any interview that may occur.

Available to domestic and international students.

At least $32,500 (2024 base rate)

Scholarships are associated with a research project, and you apply for a scholarship when you apply for a research project.  New projects are listed all year round and closing dates are project specific.

 

 

Aboriginal Enterprise Research Scholarship (AERS) Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

Maximum RTP rate of $50,000 per annum (2024 rate)

International Research Tuition Scholarships (IRTS)

International applicants who are in receipt of an externally funded scholarship and who are commencing their research. Evidence of the externally funded scholarship must be provided.

Tuition fees
