UniSA wins funding to develop workforce learning

UniSA has won research funding of $600,000 over the next two years under the Vocational Education and Training (VET) National VET Research and Evaluation Program. The proposed program of research is entitled 'Building Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for the future'.

The research will focus on developing people, cultures and practices to build organisational capability in the VET workforce. Emphasis will be on learning solutions rather than training solutions, with learning as a central, ongoing and integral feature of contemporary work.

The research program will be conducted by a consortium of 16 VET researchers across the nation - 8 principal researchers and 8 partner researchers. Professor Roger Harris, Director of the Centre for Research in Education, Equity and Work, is the Consortium Director. The co-directors are Clive Chappell at the University of Technology Sydney and Berwyn Clayton at the Canberra Institute of Technology. Dr Michele Simons and Associate Professor Chris Provis are the other UniSA researchers named in the proposal. This powerful team of respected Australian VET researchers will actively collaborate with RTOs and practitioners from a wide range of VET providers and stakeholder groups to add fresh perspectives to the VET sector.
