Professor Nicholas Procter, Chair: Mental Health Nursing and Co-convenor of the Peace, Defence and Security Research & Innovation Cluster, has been appointed by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, to the newly established Council for Immigration Services and Status Resolution. This council will provide independent advice on the implementation of measures associated with the government's immigration policy initiatives. 

Nicholas is group leader for mental health research within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, an active researcher in mental health for 'at risk' people and communities (including those in immigration detention) and member of several advisory bodies and journal editorial boards.
