What is PORTIA?
PORTIA (Postgraduate Research Training Information Assistant) is available to current and commencing higher degree by research (HRD) students, their supervisors and research degree managers/administrators from February 2005. PORTIA was piloted during Semester 2, 2004, so some people may already be using the system.
PORTIA is a web-based system and provides
- up-to-date management information on higher degree by research (HDR) students
- a transparent system that allows candidates and supervisors to plan the research, record meetings and other important events related to candidature
Information which is entered onto the system by supervisors, HRD candidates and administrators can be viewed by others using the system. Information on privacy and confidentiality (RTF file)
