Planning and review of progress
The
formal planning and review documents monitor and report this
progress to the Research Degrees Committee and therefore must be
completed by all HDR students, their supervisor/s and coordinator.

Milestones and requirements
Milestones and requirements for candidature outlines the key stages of doing a PhD for successful and timely completion, including:
- developing the Research Degree Graduate Qualities
- writing the research proposal
- seeking ethics approval
- writing the thesis and getting it ready for examination.
Research management support - PORTIA
PORTIA is a web-based system that provides up-to-date management information on higher degree by research (HDR) students.
You and your HDR student/s can use PORTIA to:
- plan the research
- record meetings and other important events related to candidature.
Information which is entered onto the system by supervisors, HDR students and administrators can be viewed by others using the system. Information on privacy and confidentiality (RTF file)
