The
aim of the
Sidney Myer Health Scholarship is to enhance the career
development of allied and public health, medical, bio-medical
science and nursing professionals and address community and
population health issues in local and regional communities across
Australia over the period of three years. This scholarship is
sponsored by the
Sidney Myer Fund
The objectives are:
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Medical and health sciences, or Public health and health services.
It is required that your study starts no earlier than 1 January 2009.
A full Sidney Myer Health Scholarship stipend is $37,000 each year for three years. The stipend will pay for salaries and/or direct research costs. An additional $5,000 per annum will be made available to the scholar and their supervisor for research-related travel.
Applicants may be a recipient of a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Scholarship. In this case applicants would be eligible for a Top-up Scholarship, which will pay the difference between the NHMRC Scholarship stipend and the Sidney Myer Health Scholarship stipend.
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
Applications must focus on research that addresses the harmful effects of alcohol in communities and populations across Australia over the period of three years.
