These
scholarships are funded by the Division of Education, Arts and
Social Sciences. A maximum of six awards will be offered in 2009*.
The scholarship is designed to develop 'full spectrum academics' competent in all aspects of an academic's role, including teaching, research and student management. It combines a traditional PhD with a Graduate Certificate in Education (University Teaching) and supervised teaching experience.
Available to Australian and New Zealand citizens and permanent residents of Australia.
$30,000 tax-free Research Award (comprising an APA or USAPA scholarship + top-up scholarships) per annum for 3 to 3.5 years plus paid casual short-term teaching contracts.
