Summer Research Scholarships - 2008 recipients

UniSA recipients with the Vice-Chancellor (3rd from left) and Dean of Graduate Studies (2nd from right)

UniSA recipients with the Vice Chancellor (3rd from left) and Dean of Graduate Studies (2nd from right)

The Vice Chancellor farewelled the first cohort of UniSA students to receive awards under the prestigious UniSA-ANU Vice Chancellor's Summer Research Scholarships scheme on Tuesday 28 October 2008. This function was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Research and Innovation, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Academic, the Dean of Graduate Studies, UniSA Heads of Schools, and Deans of Research.

This scheme is the first joint activity under the UniSA ANU Memorandum of Understanding, signed earlier this year. Ten high-achieving undergraduate students from UniSA will be travelling to the ANU to undertake supervised research projects with ANU research teams over the 2008/09 summer break.

Under this reciprocal scheme UniSA will also welcome eight ANU students to UniSA to conduct research over the summer break. Congratulations and good luck to our UniSA scholars: Arn Duncan, Belinda Norton, Kim Nguyen, Lynsey Willenberg, Jan-Felix Schmakeit, Loc Thai, Thomas Everingham, Jessica Tsimeris, Chelsea Ayling and Xun Lu. Congratulations also to Hugh Beil and Mark Lin who were awarded scholarships, but are unable to take them up in 2008/09.
