Making medicine easy to swallow for the young and elderly

Professor Allan Evans and Steven EdgecombeRight now Allan and Steven are undertaking health science research that will benefit the very young and the elderly. Health Sciences higher degree by research (HDR) students choose UniSA to tackle projects that really count.

Professor Allan Evans and HDR students Steven Edgecombe are researching new ways of administering medicines. They are developing small patches that adhere to the lining of the mouth to deliver drugs into the body. The outcome of this research will be of great benefit for people who cannot swallow medicines such as the elderly and the very young.

Allan provides the support and advice that Steven requires while still giving him the freedom to be able to develop and direct this research. A UniSA Health Sciences supervisor will guide you through the demands of your research degree - they’re people you can work with. They work right alongside you, both in the University and in the field.
