Applying to do a research degree
- Apply online: for UniSA research degree programs (Doctor of Philosophy, Research Professional Doctorates and Masters by Research)
- Professional doctorate: a rigorous programme of advanced study and research, designed specifically to meet the needs of industry and professional groups - further information
- Readmission: to be completed by HDR students who have previously withdrawn/been withdrawn from a HDR program within the last three years - RTF (pc) and Word (Mac)

Visitors to UniSA for the purpose of research experience
UniSA offers visiting research experience programs to
senior undergraduate students, postgraduate students
or research degree students
from universities/institutes overseas and in Australia
to undertake a short term research project in one of their research
concentrations. The program is designed to assist students to develop skills
relevant to their tertiary education, current occupation or field of study.
Projects can range in duration from 1 to 12 months,
with the visitor performing research tasks under the supervision of an academic
supervisor. They may be required to provide written and verbal progress reports
outlining the work undertaken and the results achieved.
To participate in this program, the visitor must:
- be in the final stages of an undergraduate degree, or undertaking or have recently completed a Master's qualification
- have high achieving academic backgrounds that are specifically suited to the research project on which they will participate.
Travel and health insurance
Overseas visitors are responsible for the booking and cost of all travel arrangements, including visas. Overseas visitors must ensure that they have adequate personal travel/health insurance cover for the duration of their visit.
Steps and documentation required - all applicants
- Potential visitors should check UniSA's various research concentrations to ensure their study interests corresponds to an appropriate research concentration within UniSA.
- Visitors will need to contact the relevant research concentration to discuss their suitability for and the availability of a project.
- The visiting research student must forward CV and a recent language certificate confirming their English language ability.
