Heart Foundation information session
Representatives from the Heart Foundation will visit niSA in October to talk about their programs and awards in cardiovascular research. Their visit provides an opportunity for you to find out about funding available, assessment criteria and their peer review process. They also plan to provide tips on how to give yourself and your team the best chance of receiving funding.

How to write an ARC Linkage Project workshop
How to write an ARC Linkage Project was presented by Robin King, former PVC
for the Division of ITEE and held on Monday-Tuesday 11-12
August.
This workshop was particularly relevant to researchers who:
- Plan to submit an ARC Linkage-Project application in the November 2008 round
- have an industry partner confirmed.

Premier's Science & Research Fund (PSRF) information session
Researchers and industry representatives heard Dr Ian Chessell, Chief Scientist for South Australia discussed the 2008 round of the Premier's Science & Research Fund (PSRF). Dr Chessell provided a general overview of the PSRF program and the opportunities available for industry-linked research.

ARC Rejoinder workshop
This workshop on Writing an effective rejoinder was presented by Professor Phyllis Tharenou, previous Chair of the ARC's College of Experts for Social, Behavioural and Economic Sciences and Dean of Research for the Division of Business, UniSA.

ARC Future Fellowships Scheme - Consultation Session
Staff of University Research Offices in South Australia and Academic Staff attended a briefing on the Future Fellowships Consultation Paper available on the ARC website.
Professor Clayton, Executive Director (Biological Sciences and Biotechnology), will deliver a presentation and there will then be time for questions and feedback from the audience at the briefing.
For your convenience, the ARC is holding two briefing sessions, the first at the University of Adelaide in the morning and the second at the University of South Australia in the afternoon. Please note either session is open to all South Australian Universities.

National Heart Foundation - Research Program Information Sessions
Are you looking for funding for your heart, stroke or blood vessel disease research?
The Heart Foundation provides funding to researchers working in universities, hospitals and recognised research institutions across Australia and offers Grants in-Aid, Fellowships, Scholarships, Travel Grants and Summer Scholarships. Information Sessions about the Heart Foundation Research Program are being held across Australia in every state and territory over the next few weeks. These presentations will provide information on the Heart Foundation Research Program, the types of research funding we offer, the assessment criteria for funding and the Peer Review process. We will also provide tips on what to do to give you and your team the best chance of receiving funding. The sessions also give you the opportunity to ask questions about our program and the funding.
