The following calendar gives a yearly overview of the major research prizes and awards rounds. Where possible, actual closing dates and links to the relevant website are provided.

| Anton Hales Medal | Recognises distinguished research in the earth sciences. It will be awarded to researchers under 40 years at the closing date, except in the case of significant interruptions to a research career. The award is restricted to candidates who are normally resident in Australia and for research conducted mainly in Australia. | 30 August |
