How do I prepare my application?

Project Grants Development Scheme

Presentations and vodcasts from ARC Discovery Project and NHMRC Project Grant Development Scheme workshops 2009-10

Some of the resources on this page (such as training) are for longer-term development, others (such as looking at successful submissions) will help you write a grant application immediately. The grant writing process is not a quick and easy task. The more you tap into resources and help from colleagues the better your application will be.

Submit your application

When preparing an application for a research grant or fellowship, please observe the following guidelines:

  • All Australian Competitive Grants must be submitted to Research Capacity and Compliance. Postal address:
    Research and Innovation Services
    Mawson Lakes Campus
    University of South Australia
    GPO Box 2471
    Adelaide
    South Australia 5001
  • All final applications, including the required number of photocopies, must be with Research Capacity and Compliance by the published internal closing date:
    • The internal closing date is at least 10 working days prior to external closing date published by the funding agency. This allows Research Capacity and Compliance to compliance check and process large volumes of applications.
    • If your application is not received by Research Capacity and Compliance by the published internal closing date, staff cannot guarantee that the application will be compliance checked for submission to the funding agency. Research Capacity and Compliance will nevertheless use all reasonable endeavours to ensure all applications are compliant and submitted on time.
  • Intending applicants are also required to complete the grant application cover sheet - RTF file and Word doc. One signed copy of this form must be submitted with your application by the internal closing date.
