Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC)

UniSA HREC is responsible to the NHMRC through Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC) and operates within the guidelines developed by that body. UniSA HREC does not report to the University of South Australia Council via its subcommittee structure but instead reports to the Vice Chancellor through the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President (Research and Innovation)

Membership and terms of reference

UniSA HREC membership includes core community members required under the NHMRC guidelines as well as academic staff of the university with research expertise in disciplines from which ethics applications are received.

Meeting dates and submission details

UniSA HREC will be unable to consider online applications requiring UniSA HREC review (ie applications assessed as being E3 risk level) unless they are submitted online by the deadline dates specified below. For an application to be considered by the deadline date it must be at the 'E3 - HREC' stage.

Applications received after the deadline date will be considered at the following meeting. The period between the submission date and the meeting allows time for papers to be read by UniSA HREC members.

All UniSA HREC meetings will be held in H2-18, Magill campus, commencing at 9.30am.
