Business, Innovation and Commercialisation Committee
About the committee
A network of senior Business Development Managers (BDMs) operates within the University. The Business, Innovation and Commercialisation Support Unit within Research and Innovation Services has been formed to provide coordination of these networks, resulting in the formalisation of existing networks into the Business, Innovation and Commercialisation Committee (BICC). BICC reports quarterly to Research Policy Committee
Terms of reference
- To maximise University revenue opportunities and growth of long term opportunities, in particular in relation to research income categories 2, 3 and 4.
- To provide oversight of collaboration and engagement strategies and activities.
- To provide oversight of the effectiveness of and compliance with the University's business systems, including systems for the identification, protection and commercialisation of IP.
- To develop knowledge transfer metrics and to monitor the University's performance.
- To formulate and implement strategies for managing risk arising from engaging with external agencies.
- To develop and communicate education and training opportunities for the broader UniSA community engaged in supporting the above activities.
