About the PQS
The Project Quality System (PQS) was implemented in 1999. The University of South Australia is accredited under ISO9001 on the project management of the delivery of research and consultancy services. Policy and procedures are required to ensure the quality of project management and delivery. Research and Innovation Services is responsible for the monitoring and administration of the quality system and provides support to the business network teams in Divisions and Institutes and coordinates training of team members on the quality system.
An intranet proposal logging system, the PQS has been implemented to track all proposals generated by members of the University and to ensure that appropriate quality processes are followed. The embedding of the PQS is vital to ensure that all appropriate areas of the University are willing to implement the quality system, as well as ensuring that:
- the system achieves its intended purpose
- activities comply with documented requirements
- timely corrective action is taken when necessary
- there is control and consistency of documentation and standardisation of procedures.
In 2004, the PQS was expanded to adequately accommodate and assist in the management of transnational projects. The key benefits of this system include:
- the University is served by a system that clearly defines the relevant processes. This ensures best practice in the management of transnational activities
- the PQS database is used to capture client feedback which can then be used for analysis and improvement.
- ready identification of all projects and programs through the PQS
- management information readily available
- defined business rules ensure accountability through mandatory approvals
- risks are assessed and endorsed if high
- quality processes and steps are relevant and related to ISO guidelines and requirements.

Request to add client details in Finance One General Debtors Client Master list
A new Client/Industry Partner needs to be registered in Finance One and allocated a Debtors Code prior to being available for selection in the PQS. To set up a new Client/Industry Partner in the PQS, please complete this online form which will be forwarded to both Accounts Receivable in Finance and Clare Cobb in Research & Innovation Services.
