Psychology clinic
The Psychology Clinic functions as a unit that trains postgraduate
clinical psychology and counselling students.
It also provides a service to the general public offering affordable psychological services and counselling of a high standard. Services are by appointment and do not require a medical referral.
The Psychology Clinic is staffed by trainees enrolled in the Master of Psychology (Clinical and other) postgraduate program(s) and counselling postgraduate programs at the University of South Australia.
Qualified academic staff and clinical psychologists supervise the work of the trainees in the Clinic.
To arrange an appointment please fill out the appointment form (which is in Word format) and email it to the Clinic at PsychologyClinic@unisa.edu.au. Alternatively, appointments can be arranged by phoning (08) 8302 2170. A medical referral is not required.
About Us
The University of South Australia Psychology Clinic was established in 1997 and aims to provide initial practical supervision to trainees undertaking postgraduate training in Clinical and Forensic psychology and postgraduate Counselling students. The Clinic aims to provide as full a range of experiences as is possible for students, and it offers assessment, counselling and treatment services for adults, children and families in the general and the University community.
The Clinic is a UniSA cost centre raising funds not only from consultation held on site, but also from contracts, workshops and external placements. These funds help support the costs of running and maintaining the Clinic.
The Clinic also aims to provide resources and support for research to academic staff members and postgraduate students in the School of Psychology.
All psychology supervisors working in the Clinic are required to be registered with the South Australian Psychological Board and to be members of the relevant College of the Australian Psychological Society, or be eligible for membership.

Services
The Psychology Clinic provides psychological counselling services, work and educational assessments and therapeutic services for children, adults and families. The Clinic also provides group therapy and special clinics.
Individual services are provided in areas such as:
- fear, anxiety, panic and adjustment
- depression
- life changes
- sexual difficulties
- eating problems
- pain
- trauma and psychological injury
- stress, grief and guilt
- children's behaviour and management problems
- bedwetting and soiling
- relationship difficulties and family problems
- educational and learning difficulties
- sleep difficulties
- legal and vocational assessment
- development
- hypnosis
- Stop-Think-Do social skills program
Fees
The Clinic operates on a fee for service basic, where the fees are considerably lower than the usual rates in South Australia. Fees (incl. GST) for attending the Clinic are:

Location
The Psychology Clinic is located in the Playford Building at the University of South Australia, City East Campus. Access is via Gate 4, Frome Road.
