Rehabilitation Counselling
Postgraduate studies in Rehabilitation Counselling at UniSA are designed to produce graduates who work within an empowering framework with groups and individuals whose lives have been disrupted by injury and/or disability and/or disadvantage. The goal of the rehabilitation counsellor is to maximise independence by working within an interdisciplinary framework to enable people to reach their full potential personally and to enhance their career and employment opportunities.
The Rehabilitation Counselling programs will provide:
- advanced knowledge of and skills in rehabilitation, critically reflective practice and the sociology of work and disability
- development of sound interpersonal and communication skills
- knowledge of and skills in working with people from diverse backgrounds
- knowledge of and skills in the application of contemporary job placement frameworks
