The University of South Australia
was well-represented at the
Prime Minister’s Australia 2020 Summit held at Parliament
House, Canberra, on 19 and 20 April 2008.
Six current UniSA staff members, one Adjunct and one Emeritus Professor, and a graduate were among the1000 leading Australians who “helped shape a long-term strategy for the nation’s future”.
Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Caroline McMillen and postdoctoral research fellow Dr Beverly Muhlhausler lent their expertise to developing a long-term national health strategy. In addition, UniSA’s Foundation Chair in Health Economics Professor Leonie Segal contributed on this topic to the alternative summit in Sydney that week which fed into the main event.
Executive Director of the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre Elizabeth Ho and UniSA International Business/International Studies graduate and Rhodes Scholar Amy King contributed to the Future of Australian Governance panel.
Professor Peter Buckskin, Dean and Head of School of the David Unaipon College of Indigenous College of Education and Research joined prominent Indigenous leaders Noel Pearson and Patrick Dodson in discussions on Options for the future of Indigenous Australia.
Director of the Centre for Work + Life, Professor Barbara Pocock and Emeritus Professor Freda Briggs were members of the Strengthening communities, supporting families and social inclusion panel.

to the discussion on population, sustainability, climate change and
