4. How do I get my existing "UniSA Staff Photocopy Access Card" enabled so that I can use the "Monitored Printing Service"?
- On the Document Services Web site there is an online form through which Staff members can request that their existing "UniSA Staff Photocopy Access Card" is enabled to allow it to be used to pay for printing carried out on "MONITORED Printers". This link will take you to the "Forms Online (Staff Restricted)" page - look for the "Enable MONITORED Printing on Existing Card" form.

- On the Document Services Web site there is an online form through which Staff members can "ADD VALUE" to their existing "UniSA Staff Photocopy Access Card". This link will take you to the "Forms Online (Staff Restricted)" page - look for the "ADD VALUE to Existing Account" form.
6. Where are MONITORED PHOTOCOPIERS and PRINTERS located on which I can use copying / printing credit contained in my "MONITOR Account"?
- MONITORED photocopiers are located in the Library. These provide a range of both B&W and Colour photocopying services which are available to both STUDENTS and STAFF. At various other locations in the university, there are a number of monitored photocopiers which are available for "STAFF ONLY" use (nb printing is NOT currently available on these devices.)
- MONITORED printing services for both STUDENTS and STAFF are ALSO available in the LIBRARY on selected MFD Copier / Printers, and also in the POD Centre at City West Campus. Full details of the City West POD Centre services may be found via this link.
- There are "special" MONITORED printing services which have been set up in various STAFF workgroups elsewhere in the university, but these are only usually only available to staff who belong to those workgroups. (If you would like to explore the possibility of having such facilities made available in YOUR area, please contact Document Services on 26966.)
7. How can I determine the current balance of my Monitor account?
- LOGGED ON PC - depending upon its location, the PC through which staff members are logged on to the UniSA network will show the current balance of your MONITOR account. Simply "hover" your mouse over the "Monitor Balance" icon in the system tray and your current account balance will be displayed. Alternatively, "click" the icon and an "Account Balance" popup window will be displayed.
- The "Account Balance" popup window will look similar to this graphic:
- The account balance popup also contains two useful hyperlinks:
8. Should the "Account Balance" pop-up appear on EVERY UniSA Computer to which I logon?
- In due course, we plan to arrange for the "Account Balance" pop up to be made available on every UniSA PC which is generally available to Students and Staff. Initially, we will be rolling out this functionality through particular Computer Pools and Library PCs as the "Monitored Printing Services" on Library MFDs and via the POD are made available.
- In certain other "Staff" workgroups, special arrangements wih particular schools have been made to install "MONITORED Printing Services" for the use of staff within that school. These services are currently restricted to the STAFF members of these schools.
- If you would like to explore the possibility of having such facilities made available in YOUR staff area or workgroup, please contact Document Services on 26966.
9. How do I know what is the printing cost of an individual job?
- A few seconds after you print to a printer which is part of the "Monitored Printing Service", a "Printing Confirmation" popup will appear.
- This popup will show the number of pages and associated cost of each print job you submit.
- When you see this popup, you have the option to either CANCEL the print job or CONFIRM that you understand the cost and wish for it to be printed.
- For monitored printing directed to POD centres, the print job needs to be specifically RELEASED to the printer via the special Print Release Station located on the POD centre service desk. Until jobs are actually RELEASED via the Print Release Station, no costs are deducted from your Monitor account
- At the POD, once the job HAS been released, the cost of printed jobs will be deducted from your "MONITOR Account" balance.
- NB - If your "MONITOR Account" balance does not contain sufficient funds YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO RELEASE JOBS FOR PRINTING TO A MONITORED PRINTER.
