FAQs - Job re-print services

Automatic retention of "print ready" copy of jobs

Illustration - tags on Plate Filing systemAt Document Services, a "print ready" copy of each completed digital print job is automatically filed under cross-referenced keys in our Completed Jobs / Reprint  Repository for a minimum of 1 month.

At the time of placing an initial order, clients may SPECIFY the retention period required. The print ready file will then be retained for AS LONG AS REQUIRED for an individual job, allowing it to be re-printed with no fuss time and time again. Currently, there is NO CHARGE to our clients for this valuable service.

Files for which no retention period has been specified may be removed after a period not less than 1 month from the date the job was originally printed.

Easy, exact Job Re-prints result in significant cost savings to clients

At any time AFTER the original job was completed, an EXACT re-print of the required number of copies can be easily re-produced upon request from the client. There is no need to re-specify and re-submit the whole job. This unique "no extra charge" facility has resulted in significant cost savings for many of our clients and for the University of South Australia as a whole.

Re-Print Repository

Our Re-Print Repository is a major benefit of our digital workflow which has been developed and refined in-house to fit the requirements of the university and specific clients over many years. At the heart of our digital workflow is an advanced document scanning and "make-ready" system, which also provides sophisticated database facilities through which our digital re-print repository is managed.

Minor changes to jobs are easily incorporated

Minor changes can easily be incorporated into "print-ready" jobs held in our re-print repository. Only the changed pages need to be submitted to Document Services along with a print request which identifies the original job as held in the repository. Our pre-press operators incorporate the changed pages and the new version of the job is stored in the repository, ready for all subsequent re-print orders.
