Bachelor of Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology

Due to a current decline in community and industry demand, this degree is no longer being offered.  It is anticipated that the current cohort of students will complete their degrees within the next three years.  However, students wanting a career in the Pharmaceutical Industry are encouraged to consider the Pharmaceutical Science degree.

Biotechnologists harness living systems to produce useful materials including food, medicine and chemicals.

UniSA’s Bachelor of Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology prepares students for stimulating work in a variety of fields, from research and forensics to drug discovery, development and commercialisation.

The program takes a three-pronged approach to prepare students for the industry, giving them the theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and business savvy needed in the workplace. The three year degree begins with broad science training, followed by advanced studies in areas such as genetics, chemistry, biochemistry and nanotechnology.

The program is based in the heart of Adelaide’s medical research precinct at City East campus, where students have access to modern purpose-built labs and quality facilities.
