Questions and Answers - Double Degree
Q: How do I qualify for entry into the
BPharmSci-BPharm (Hons) double degree?
A: You must be a student in either UniSA's Bachelor of
Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science programs with an average
mark of a Credit at the end of second year. There is a guaranteed place
for all students with a credit average at the end of second year. (note
- a minimum number of courses must have been undertaken to be eligible).
Q: Can I retake a course if I get a P1 to bring
up my GPA?
A: No, this is against both University and government
policy.
Q: If I enter the Double Degree and my GPA
falls below a credit average will I be thrown out?
A: You can continue in the Double Degree if your GPA
falls below a Credit average after you are admitted to the double
degree, but you would not be eligible for the Honours stream.
Q: What if I fail any courses in the double
degree?
A: Then you can retake the courses and still come out
with the double degree.
Q: But what if I continue to fail a course?
A: If you cannot complete one or more courses then you
may be eligible for either the Pharmacy or the BPharmSci degree
depending on which courses you have managed to pass.
Q: What are my options if I am just below a
credit average at the end of 2 years but really want to do the double
degree?
A: The best option is probably to complete the degree
you are currently in and try to get the best grades possible. Then apply
for the other degree through SATAC. Note that this is a competitive
process and there are no guarantees. However, you are likely to be
eligible for credit for several common courses.
