Sansom Institute
Linking research to better health
Founded in 2004, the Sansom Institute brings together all of the research undertaken in the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences and forms one of the six key research concentrations at the University of South Australia.
Offering a unique breadth of health research, the Sansom provides a dynamic environment, enabling world-class research and training in a collaborative and cooperative spirit. It houses state-of-the-art laboratory and pharmacy research facilities and offers outstanding opportunities for postgraduate students and early-career researchers.
The institute is named after Emeritus Professor Lloyd Sansom, a luminary in Australian pharmacy research and education who held various senior academic posts at UniSA before retiring in 2000, and currently chairs the Australian government’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee.
