Student life
There is much more to university than just lectures and textbooks. Below is a run-down on some of the organisations and services that help make student life fun.
School-based student activities
The School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences has one of the most active student bodies in the University, with a number of program-specific student associations that organise social events and provide student representation.
- South Australian Pharmacy Student Association – founded in 1923, SAPSA is one of the largest student associations in Australia, providing members with benefits such as textbook services, careers nights, barbecues, an annual ball and student exchange opportunities.
- Laboratory Medicine Student Association – aims to bring laboratory medicine students together for social activities and events, and represents students on school committees and professional bodies such as the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists.
- Biotechnology Student Association – organises a range of events for students in the Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology degree, including a barbecue to welcome first year students, an annual dinner, and fundraising for medical research.
Other organisations and services
- UniSA Students Association – provides student representation and support, sporting and recreational clubs, member benefits and discounts etc.
- Health and Fitness Centre – fully-equipped gym at City East campus runs yoga, circuit and boxing classes.
- Golden Key Society – an international, student-run honour society.
